I believe there are two kinds of people in this world– those who love mint chocolate chip ice cream, and those who don’t know what they’re missing. I belong to the former.
When I’m not inhaling mcc ice cream, I’m hiding my daughter’s toy bugle and shooing the dog off the couch. I use bugle respites to read Pride and Prejudice like it’s going out of print, make and maintain lists, and seek creative means (i.e., hot yoga, hiking, bicycling) to mitigate the effects of my ice cream habit.
I crunch numbers by day to sustain my housing habit. I document summer camp flashbacks and locker room foibles to sustain my right-brain functioning.
Open windows, pink gingham, and Guiradelli chocolates make me happy…as do Latin phrases. The closest I’ve gotten to Latin is taking an etymology class and watching Dead Poets Society.
I write for myself. I consider it a bonus if others enjoy what I write too. Thank you for reading, and feel free to leave comments on pages or posts if you’d like. I enjoy the feedback.

Allison! Lovin’ your new digs and so glad you’re still keepin’ up, I’m gonna enjoy visiting here
By far the sexiest accountant I know. Love your blog, girl. And love you too!
Great – now I feel like ice-cream
Very nice blog! I’m glad I found your site. Also love your header. Did you do that yourself?
Hi, Leah. Thank you! I made the blog header on Mosaic Maker: http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php.
Arrrrr MCC… lovely
I like how you think!
I think you might be my twin sister in writing style and maybe more….

Are you my long lost twin?
hehe…great “About” page! Isn’t Pride and Prejudice already out of print?
I couldn’t agree more about mint chocolate chip. I feel the same way!
Hi,
How can I subscribe to your blog? I really enjoyed your writing.
I added a subscription widget to my page. Thank you for asking, and for reading!
When you mentioned the mint chocolate ice cream, I thought, now here is someone I will follow; but then rereading Pride and Prejudice was icing on the cake!

That’s my fave ice cream, but I fainted when I tried hot yoga. Who would want to bend their body like a pretzel inside a toaster oven for an hour? Ah well, I still think I’m going to like you.
Cheers

Congrats on getting pressed-came via that to your blog, nice job! Crazy, the tent photo in your header I swear the tent pic is from my childhood! My family had a tent very similar, which my sister and I decided was the choice tent for a camping trip this summer. Putting it up this summer with some duct tape for assistance, I believe the guys in the site over enjoyed watching us. But damn it we put that bugger up and had the best camping trip!
Hi, found your blog from the main page– still trying to get the hang of WordPress myself, but I like your style, and I am glad that I stumbled upon your blog!
Good morning! Been rummaging around your page (hope you don’t mind) and I find it interesting and well thought out. You are doing a super job.
Grabbed a subscription and thought I might trot down the lane with you aways, see what pops up in the future, and how much Ice Cream you will consume during this journey.
Stay well,
DS
I like you!
How nice!
“…those who love mint chocolate chip ice cream, and those who don’t know what they’re missing. I belong to the former.”
That may be the funniest (and most clever) blog introduction I’ve ever read!
Thank you! I meant every word of it.
Life is too short to eat anything but mint chocolate chip ice cream. Yes, there are many other kinds, but there is no point in trying them because… well, just because.
Music to my ears. Truly.
You got me with “mint chocolate chip ice cream.”
Welcome to the club!
I’m very new to blogs, but stumbled upon yours by accident and loved it. I know, I know, there are no accidents. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome, and feel free to stop by and visit any time you want.

Feel free to delete this comment. I just wanted to suggest a “Contact” page for your blog. You never know when someone might have a question for you, but not for all your readers.
Good idea– keeps my email from spamsters too!
Just found your site when I was seraching on who wrote the little poem that starts ” the long drawn out whistle of a train” and I found this. My high school lit teacher also taught us this. Wondering if we had the same one. He always had a daily pun on the chalk board.
I bet it was. Mr. Stilwell?
I am not quite sure what I love more, that you like mint chocolate chip ice cream or that you abbreviated it to mcc. Either way, it is my favorite flavor as well!
Then I am in good company right now!
I think we may have been separated at birth….
Minus the craftiness on my part…
Never read pride and prejudice, perhaps i need a trip to the library.
Mammoth cave is awesome, by the way.
You could wait until next year to read P&P, if you want to commemorate its 200th publishing anniversary. Mammoth Cave is awesome
